We rocked today's practice in the dust and dirt, kicking mud everywhere! Rebecca is very sore from yesterday and today but she's a trooper. Kim is looking forward to this challenge because you know how she can't resist them.....these combative roommates are devising secrete training schemes so that they may emerge victorious in their given goals! BRING IT ON!!!!!!!

Well Day 2 down!! Kim and I woke up at 7am and ran along the water front down to the park, where we practiced basics and the first set on the waters edge. It was beautiful and muggy!

Day 2. Practiced after training in Tower gym. Turns out still sore after Sunday's epic work-out. The yoga room with mirrors is great to see how good (or bad) your kicks are. Note to self: never try to do a set before stretching and doing a few kicks...

Day2: An easy and short wokout was all I could do.
I practised some Tan tui,Deng tui and ce ti tuis. Also first set and begining moves of the second set.

Day 2: All the basics; 3 sets with the Kwan Dao; 2 sets each of the 3rd set, 6th set and 7th set Chuojiao and the 8th Yanqing Fanzi set. Stretched. New sneakers. Super humid. Pretty good night all in all.

Day 3: Another early morning... Ran to the park stretched, practiced the 5 stance set, the first set and some of the kicks (the ones i suck uber bad at). Very sore, and very muggy, however it was an awesome work out today. To end todays practice i ran home.

Day 3: After a very long workday, both with throbbing feet, we are just content that we made it to today's practice... Couldn't complete Josh's "recipe of the day" but definitely did our best. Tugce even tore the sole of her shoe doing the spinning back heel kick... Ode to commitment.

Day 4: Great early morning practice today! We ran and then we practiced kicks, stances and sets, then we ran home. I (Rebecca) am still sucking at 2 kicks, and one of my goals is to get them down and looking beautiful, and not a hemorrhaging duck. Kim is just perfecting what she already knows. We are both stretching a lot because we are so sore, and our mutual goal is to be able to do a back standing split and side standing split. We are already seeing improvements and can't wait to see the progress everyone has made at the end of these tough 30 days.

Kudos to Tugce & Yener for there dedication to the Challenge, you both are inspiring us to keep it up and no matter how tired we are, we can still do it! Great work!

Day 4: Tower gym mirrors show you who you really are! Yener will better his empty stance and Tugce will eventually get a cartwheel on the right, as soon as she figures out what she's doing on the left.

Thanks for the kudos, though I have no idea what they are... :P Probably something good :)

Day 4: Stretched; Did 4 fanzi basics; Stretched; Did 18 basic kicks plus 2 extra; Did left and right 2 handed cartwheels; tried 2 handed cartwheels-got 1 (Zeke was my witness), ended up on my butt for the rest; Did 7th and 8th Chuojiao sets and the Xiao Fanzi set twice each; Did Chuojiao staff set x 3; stretched; Did 3 x 10 fingertip push ups; Tried to remember the sanjiegun set; Got carried away and cracked my head while doing overhead spins (I'm sure it has a very poetic name).

Mate, I'm already on Day 6 of training 3 hours every evening... not chuojiao though at the moment, but learning shengbiao (ropedart) and chen shi taiji as well as revising my ditang jibengong and shaanxi fanzi. Does that count? :P

Jibengong is "basic skills." We use that term all the time.
I'm on day ??? without missing. I can't count that high. Ha Ha.
Does chasing a bad guy up Albro Lake rd, into an apartment and taking him into custody count as exercise? If so put me down for twice on the 20th.
Good job guys. Be there Saturday. Kim and Rachel will start the Guiding Nanquan Taolu. Josh bring a rope with a light weighted end about shoulder length.

@AnZhou - why twice on the 20th? Did you not catch him the first time? Or did you enjoy it so much you let him go so you could catch him again? And remember, you get PAID to train everyday, us lesser mortals do it because we enjoy it... apparently :o)

Yep learning all this with Yan. Taiji sucks ass though. I'm not old enough to learn it yet. I think you need to be about 100 and have white eyebrows down to your chin. Not sure, I'll google it and see... ;)

Yesterday revised 2nd Yanqing set. Nicer than the 1st, longer than the 8th, but not as sexy as the Cun shou 1st or 2nd sets. Tonight will be Sanda and I think Hao Zhihua will be popping in.

Day 5: Happy Birthday Josh! I (Becca) Finally got that kick down( I don't know what to call it) Kim- "holding the urn" She is always correcting me...:| Kim is working on the 4th set, and is über PUMPED about the new kick she learned. We are both working hard at the standing back splits, its getting there, but will easily take the whole 30 days to master. Becca has to remember that she is not fighting a giant and to keep her hands down and tight! Kim laughs at me, however its very true! She also finds enjoyment in reminding me that I'm not Super Women! Which I beg to differ.

Stay tuned for more of the dis-functional roommate rivalry.. All caused by Kim :)

Good job today everyone, it was great to see new faces!

Day 6: Much like Tugce less than 12 hours later after day 5 practice, we were up and practicing again. We went for run through the woods and park in the morning, Kim did jump training because she feels like she is way to " Down to earth" and not the good way, she also practiced her jumps. I again practiced not fighting a giant and remembered to slow down during my set. We strectched like there was no tomorrow in hopes of not being so sore for week 2.

After we practiced eating like Chuojiao masters at Cora's... Does this count? ;)

@Chris(Beijing) I certainly don't get "PAID" to train. I work out on my UNPAID lunch, before and/or after work because I ENJOY it. It was a requirement for Cadets but is a suggestion for Officers.

Did you try the Chen Pao Chui? That's more along the lines of 'dynamic taiji.' Oh or some of the Zhao Bao stuff looks good too. And I though you were going to do the San Huang Pao Chui?

@AnZhou - Bagua is nice, but again, I don't have the eyebrows yet... I'm working on it though.

Retiring to Canada would be cool, but I'd have to first learn everything here that I would want to. Still got a long way to go!

Working on Yanqing 1st set and the Shaanxi fanzi with Shane. Also some Huweibian. Haven't trained it in about a year but I can still whip it around pretty darn fast which was encouraging. If we don't come over to Canada in Oct then I'll prob enter the 4th World Trad Championships in Wudang for a laugh. See how my ankles hold up.
