Praying Mantis Kung Fu

Imitative kung fu styles provide some of the most distinctive and recognizable forms found within Chinese wushu.  Praying Mantis Kung Fu is one of the most identifiable and challenging of the imitative wushu styles.  Yu Hai, the most well known and successful mantis competitor in modern wushu history, was part of the famous Chinese 1974 White House Wushu Delegation.  Lu Yan was also part of the famous 1974 White House Delegation.  During the July - August 2011 Seminar, Lu Yan introduced the Halifax Wushu Club to Yu Hai’s competitive mantis wushu style.
